The scientific paper “Beyond compliance: How European fact checkers correct their own errors”, authored by Professor Mato Brautović, University Assistant Ivana Grkeš Tošović and Assistant Professor Romana John from the University of Dubrovnik, has been published in the international peer-reviewed journal Harvard Kennedy School Misinformation Review, which operates within the Harvard Kennedy School – Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy. Although they regularly keep up with changes in the field of information and media, teachers from Istria County acknowledge that it is becoming increasingly difficult to determine what is fake and what is authentic content. This is one of the reasons why they decided to take part in a media literacy training organised by Gong.
The training was held on 2 and 3 July at Mate Balota Secondary School in Poreč, and brought together teachers of Croatian language, foreign languages, History and Informatics. [+]
On 9 June 2026, a media literacy workshop dedicated to recognising disinformation and critically evaluating information was held at the Postojna School Centre. The workshop was delivered by Žana E. Martinšek, Žan Premrov and Eva Gračanin, and gave students the opportunity to learn about the most common techniques of information manipulation through play, discussion and group work. [+]

Media consumption habits have changed significantly, especially among young people, with social media becoming the main arena for accessing information. In this environment, information reaches users through algorithms rather than active searching, often resulting in the creation of information “bubbles” and limited exposure to different perspectives. Students took part in a workshop on disinformation and artificial intelligence organized by Gong at the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb.
Through lectures, group work and practical exercises, participants explored topics such as changes in the information environment, the difference between disinformation and misinformation, and ways to identify manipulative and inaccurate content. [+]
At the 19th edition of the Grand PRix of the Croatian Public Relations Association (HUOJ), the most important professional award in the field of communications in Croatia, a special recognition for the development of the profession was awarded to Prof. Marijana Grbeša Zenzerović, PhD, from the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb, who is also a member of the ADMO network. Within the framework of the Rapid Response System (RRS), established under the European Union’s 2022 Code of Practice on Disinformation, ADMO conducted monitoring of disinformation ahead of and during the Slovenian parliamentary elections held on 22 March 2026. [+]

Adria Digital Media Observatory (ADMO) participated in a high-level session dedicated to countering disinformation, media literacy, and public awareness campaigns, held at the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia in Zagreb.
