Within the framework of the Rapid Response System (RRS), established under the European Union’s 2022 Code of Practice on Disinformation, ADMO conducted monitoring of disinformation ahead of and during the Slovenian parliamentary elections held on 22 March 2026.
The RRS serves as a cooperation and communication framework among the signatories of the Code of Practice on Disinformation, bringing together representatives of relevant online platforms, the European Commission, and partners from the ADMO consortium, including the non-governmental organisation Oštro, which specialises in fact-checking, media literacy, and research.
The activities included monitoring, analysing, and assessing the credibility of content related to the electoral process. This encompassed social media, online media outlets, public discourse, and other digital communication channels, with the aim of timely identifying potentially harmful information. The analysis showed that during the campaign, most cases involved isolated instances of inaccurate or misinterpreted information, while the number of confirmed disinformation cases remained limited.
In line with the established methodology and strict professional standards, one case of content was identified as non-credible with a high degree of certainty. All other content for which no conclusive assessment could be made was not subject to labelling.
The activities were carried out in accordance with the applicable legal framework of the Republic of Slovenia, including rules on the election silence period, during which no cases requiring intervention within the RRS mechanism were recorded.
ADMO’s participation in this process confirms its important role in strengthening the resilience of the information space and safeguarding the integrity of democratic processes at the European level.
