As part of the Adria Digital Media Observatory (ADMO) project, the University of Dubrovnik is hosting Dr Oleksii Polegkyi and Prof. Tomasz Stępniewski from the Institute of Political Science and Public Administration at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin.
The research visit is organised within the Didactic Excellence of Universities project and focuses on sharing knowledge and research experience, as well as developing future cooperation between the two institutions.
Dr Polegkyi studies Russian and Chinese disinformation activities, information security, and the political and security implications of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. Prof. Stępniewski researches international relations, security, and geopolitical changes in Central and Eastern Europe, with a particular interest in Ukraine, the EU’s eastern neighbourhood, and relations with Russia.
A key focus of the two-week visit is the exchange of experience gained through ADMO, the European Digital Media Observatory’s regional hub for Croatia and Slovenia. The visit also includes working meetings and discussions on opportunities for joint research and future project collaboration.
This cooperation strengthens the international research ties of the University of Dubrovnik and ADMO, bringing together experts working on disinformation, information security, and the resilience of democratic societies.
