ADMO Conference - Disinformation Under the Lens: ADMO Research Insights for Democratic Resilience

The Adria Digital Media Observatory (ADMO) is organizing a conference titled “Disinformation Under the Lens: ADMO Research Insights for Democratic Resilience” on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 9:30 AM at the premises of the European Parliament Office in Croatia (Bakačeva 3), Zagreb.
The aim of the conference is to present the most important results and achievements of the ADMO hub over the past two and a half years through three thematic panels covering key activities of ADMO: disinformation research, media literacy, and fact-checking.
The working language of the conference will be English, and the event will be livestreamed on ADMO’s social media platforms (Facebook and LinkedIn).
Opening remarks will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Mato Brautović, ADMO Coordinator; Krešimir Partl, State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture and Media; Josip Popovac, President of the Council for Electronic Media (VEM); and Andrea Čović Vidović, Deputy Head of the European Commission Representation in Croatia and Head of the Media Team.
At the first panel, titled “From data to action: Using research to counter disinformation narratives”, the speakers will be Prof. Dr. Mato Brautović (ADMO and University of Dubrovnik), Marijana Grbeša (Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb, and ADMO), Nebojša Blanuša (Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb and ADMO), and Jan Šnajder (Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing and ADMO).
“Decoding the noise: Media literacy for resilient societies” panel will focus on media literacy in the digital age and includes the following speakers Milica Vučković (Faculty of Political Science and ADMO), Milica Bogdanović (Gong), Tihomir Ladišić (N1 Television), and Ana Kirin (medijskapismenost.hr).
At the final panel, titled “Truth under review: Impact and perspectives of fact-checking in times of crisis”, we will discuss the influence and future of fact-checking, social networks, and journalism. The experts of this panel are Isabelle Wirth (AFP and ADMO), Žana Erznožnik (Oštro and ADMO), Ana Brakus (Faktograf.hr), Josip Šipić (Libela.org), and Domagoj Maričić (HAKOM).
The conference will be moderated by journalist Dragan Nikolić.
The conference program also includes a coffee break after the first panel as well as lunch and informal networking after the third panel. There is also possibility to participate in a tour de “Experience Europe” center.

The final conference of the Adria Digital Media Observatory (ADMO) project, the regional center for combating disinformation in Croatia and Slovenia, took place yesterday in Zagreb, at the Office of the European Parliament. ADMO, one of fourteen regional hubs at the EU level, has, over the past two and a half years, consistently contributed to building a more resilient society through its three core areas of activities: disinformation research, media literacy empowerment, and fact-checking.
