The Adriatic Digital Media Observatory - ADMO 2.0 has officially entered a new phase, marked by a kick-off meeting at the University of Dubrovnik. The gathering brought together representatives from nine partner organizations across Croatia, Slovenia, and France.
Held on 21 October 2025, the meeting welcomed 23 participants who discussed upcoming activities, project timelines, and plans for future joint initiatives.
Launched on 1 September 2025, ADMO 2.0 is coordinated by the University of Dubrovnik, working alongside eight partners: the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Zagreb, Gong, RTL Croatia, Presscut d.o.o., the University of Ljubljana, Oštro Slovenia, Agence France-Presse (AFP), and XWiki.
The meeting opened with a welcome from Lead Coordinator Mato Brautović, who emphasized that in its second phase, ADMO 2.0 is strengthening its position as a key regional hub and an active member of the EDMO network, contributing expertise in media, media literacy, fact-checking, and the use of artificial intelligence to counter disinformation.
Over the course of the project, ADMO 2.0 will carry out 300 fact-checks in English, Croatian, and Slovenian. It will also organize 28 media literacy training sessions for teachers, journalism students, citizens, and children, along with around 20 research studies examining disinformation campaigns in Croatia and Slovenia.
The project brings together researchers, journalists, fact-checkers, media experts, and civil society organizations to promote media literacy, counter harmful disinformation, and strengthen informed and democratic societies.
